What Are We Looking For?
Literature Undressed is looking for works that make us think, and leave us scratching our heads. We want to have our heart strings tugged, and our souls leave us to visit new worlds we've never seen before. If you're reading this and thinking I don't know if my work does that.. should I submit? If it's creative writing your submission is welcome here. We have a focus in short stories of fiction, however we also accept creative non-fiction pieces such as personal essays, memoirs, and biographies, and academic essays. Basically, if you have a story to tell we want to hear it. We accept works across all genres; this however, does not include works that incite hate or violence. If your work contains the promotion of sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. it will be dismissed. **Note** While we do accept all genres, some months will have focuses on specific genres and/or prompts. This information can be found on the home page and at the top of this page. If there is no specific theme or prompt mentioned then we are accepting open submissions.

Submissions are to be submitted in Times New Roman 12 point font, single spaced (this does not apply to artistic stylization). Submissions must be submitted in a Word or Pages format, if this is not possible Google Docs is permitted. PDF is NOT accepted. A completed contract must be attached to your email, failure to fill out and submit this contract form will result in your submission not being read. Submissions should also be proofread and edited before being submitted. While we do not currently have a page or character limit for our submissions we do ask that you keep in mind that this is for a print magazine. FAQ
How much does it cost to submit?
Answer: Nothing! Submission to Literature Undressed is completely free.
Am I paid if my work is chosen for publication?
Answer: Unfortunately, as we are a fully non-profit, volunteer based company we are unable to pay authors for their submissions. However, we do hope to eventually build to a place where we are able to, and hope that you will join us on this journey.
What rights do I still hold?
Literature Undressed is committed to opening a space for writers to share theirs voices, not to take that voice from you. We hold First Publication Rights, meaning you still hold all copy rights and the ownership of your work. With this we hold rights to publication for 30 days after your work has been published and then you are free to be published elsewhere, we do ask, however, that you acknowledge your publication with us in any future publications of your published work.
Artwork Submissions
While Literature Undressed will no longer be accepting artwork for our site, The Undressed Society Publishing House is open to artwork submissions for our quarterly print magazine. Check out USPH's submissions for more information on submission schedules, guidelines, and themes.
